Vicuna vs. Wolf[Open]

The pack was starving. That much was completely obvious. They had welcomed him with open paws into this pack, and he was willing to prove his worth with a meal large enough for everybody. The hunting grounds in pack territory weren't giving him anything decent, so he slowly made his trek up the mountain in hopes to find something better. And with all the luck he could get together, he had. Lowering his maw to the ground, Phantom caught scent of a Vicuna. The smallest member of the camel family who was thought to have some relation to the alpaca. It was a very good meal, and very hard to come by this time of year. The only thing that worried the male about this kind of meal was the very thick fur that this kind of animal carried on it's long, long neck. But if it was to feed the pack, it would be worth it. Checking the scent once more, he learned it was a female and she was pretty small, but enough for the pack. He also learned she was close by, so with an excited, but quiet bound, he made his way forward until she finally came into his sights.

Phantom took only a moments pause to catch his breath, then threw himself forward, racing after the spooked creature. The Vicuna took one look and bolted, her speed much faster than that of Phantom's. But, now, it was only a matter of endurance, and the male had that advantage for sure. Scuffing up the snow with his forceful paw steps, he was a few wolf lengths behind the long-necked creature. His tail was curled ever so slightly, and every time one of the females herd mates would come by, he would let out a sharp bark and send it on it's way. Eventually, as he had guessed, the Vicuna began to slow down, allowing Phantom to catch up in a few bounds.

With a low growl, he lowered his neck, biting at the females ankles, slowing her down more. Making sure he dodged her terrifying kicks in the mean time. Soon enough, the Vicuna was barely moving faster than a trot, and Phantom was panting up a storm. Tail flicking with exhaustion, he made a hard jump, latching his teeth to the Vicuna's neck and severing her main artery. Now, the prey fell to the ground, the life leaving her eyes in waves. Licking his maw, Phantom gave one last hard snap of it, and the Vicuna was in her own peaceful heaven.
